Lois A. Riley

Colonie – Lois A. Riley, 79, of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at St. Peter’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Louis and Loretta Sylvia. Lois was a clerk with the New York State Dept. of Civil Service for thirty years. She later worked as an aide at Veeder Elementary School where she enjoyed helping the children. Lois loved to spend time with her cherished daughters and grandchildren.

Lois is the beloved mother of Dawn (Michael) Clough, Meredith (Mike) Poole and Christine (Don) Van Apeldoorn. Lois is the sister of the late Gail Nolan. Lovingly known as “Gram”, she is the grandmother of Michael (Meg) Clough, Megan Clough, Matt Clough, Liz (Dan) Pozzouli, Michael Poole Jr., Jennifer Carey, Tim Van Apeldoorn, and Jonathan Van Apeldoorn. She is the great grandmother of Brody Pozzouli and aunt of Thom Nolan.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Lois’ family on Friday from 11 to 1 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave. Colonie. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
