Linda M. Vandyke

COLONIE - Linda M. VanDyke, 75, of Colonie, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Albany Medical Center Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Albany and is the daughter of the late Loren and Grace Grugan.  Linda was raised by her beloved mom, Gertrude Gioscia. Linda was employed with South Colonie Central High School administrative office for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Linda cherished her time with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Linda treasured her time spent in Cape Cod with her family. She was a fierce champion for all of her beloved family.

Linda is the beloved wife of William G. VanDyke. She is the loving mother of Gregory C. (Dana) VanDyke and Christopher (Christina) VanDyke. She is the cherished grandmother of Mia, Maggie, Marley, Josiah, Alena, Alexander and Grayson VanDyke. She treasured sister of John “Jerry” (Barbara) Grugan, Timothy (Valerie) Grugan, Joyce (Michael) Bond, Susan (William) Carl and her sister-in-law, Jane Grugan. Linda is also survived by her lifelong friends, Elizabeth “Cookie” Nicklaus and Janice House.

In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by siblings, Carolyn Grugan, Loren “Larry” Grugan, James Grugan, William “Billy” Grugan, Elizabeth “Betty” Grugan and Bonnie Bennett.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning at 11:00 at St. Clare’s Church, 1947 Central Ave. Colonie. Visitation will be Monday morning from 10 am to 11 am at the Church.
