Loudonville - Linda was called to a better place on September 19, 2022, at the age of 74. During her time here she earned the titles of caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. Earned is the key word here.
She was born on April 27, 1948. During her childhood she spent time in an orphanage with her sister and brother (Holly Pollard and Dan Ross). She rejoined her father, George Ross (a WWII hero) when he married Jane Ross. They welcomed another sibling, Mary Ross, shortly thereafter. The struggle of her childhood shaped her dramatically, creating a selfless, humble, and caring person.
She met her husband of 53 years, Edward “Jack” Landers, at a Dunkin Donuts after he left a big tip for a cup of coffee. She provided great support to him for much of their marriage. Together, they worked to make a better life for their three children: Scott Landers (Nicole), Christina Byrnes (Phil) and Kyle Landers. She adored her children, and she found great happiness in the simple things like attending a little league game, dance recital, family cookout or hosting a holiday gathering.
She battled severe physical ailments in her final years that limited her daily function. Jack, who learned from Linda, was able to pay it back with the support and care that she had provided for so many others over the years. She was loved.
When asked of her proudest achievement, she responded: “my grandchildren”. Taylor (Steve), Jack, Will, Maddie and Scarlett were her pride and joy and always received their Christmas jammies regardless of the pain she was enduring at the time. Linda was an amazing role model for each of them to know what it takes to “unconditionally love”. Linda left them a wonderful gift and they will continue to make her proud as she watches over them.
Linda’s love was felt by hundreds over her lifetime. Her extended family, close friends, and dozens of children she babysat for were all better for knowing her. She cherished all of them deeply.
