Larry D. Wood

LATHAM – Larry D. Wood, 72, of Latham, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 01, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his beloved wife and three cherished sons.

Born in Ogdensburg, NY Larry was the son of the late C. Roy and Bernice I. Wood. Larry was a Tax Auditor with the New York State Department of Tax & Finance for over 35 years. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed bowling, gardening, and coin collecting.  His loyalty to sports teams included the Syracuse Orange, New York Yankees, and New York Giants.

He is the beloved husband of 48 years to Stephanie Wood. Larry is the devoted father of Erik (Dawn) Wood, Kyle (Kaitlyn) Wood, and Mark (Emily) Wood. He is the adored “Pa” of Benjamin, Claire, Henry, and Amelia. Larry is the brother of Sally West (Tom), Wallace (Sally) Wood and the late Donald, Douglas, Victor, and Gerald Wood, Betty Brett, Shirley Brashaw, and Brenda Green. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Larry’s family on Friday, February 07, 2025, from 4 pm to 7 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Latham. Interment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
