Latham – John (Jack) Francis Rosenzweig, 80, of Latham entered into eternal life on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
Jack was born in Albany to the late John and Barbara Rosenzweig. He was a member of UA Local 7 Plumber and Steamfitters for 60 years serving as Co-Chairman of the Board for over 25 years. Jack put his love of God, family, hard work and service to others above all else.
During retirement, Jack enjoyed cooking spicy meals, walking his dog, and attending daily mass. He was a voracious reader and enjoyed crime novels while relaxing on the beach in Cape Cod. A lifelong Yankees and Giants fan, he loved good competition and never missed an opportunity to watch his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. Jack was a great athlete and fortunately for his kids and grandkids, they inherited his athletic prowess. Needless to say, there was plenty of post-game boasting.
Jack is survived by his high school sweetheart and beloved wife Janet (Acker) Rosenzweig, his children, Lisa Ramundo, John Rosenzweig (late Torre), Andrea Morello (Nicholas), Megan Monette (Jay), Michael Rosenzweig and Lynn Sidoti (Anthony). He was the dear grandfather to Matthew, Jack, Christopher, Myles, Case, Ava and Kevin. Jack was the brother of Robert (Judy), Cheryl (Rick) Palmer, Barbara (Joe) Trimarchi, Lois Munnelly (late Sean), Mark (Carrie Farley), Martin and the late Henry Rosenzweig (Mary Ann survives). Jack is the dear uncle, cousin, coach, teacher and friend to many. He is predeceased by his parents-in-law George and Clara Acker.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Jack's family Monday, February 10 from 4:00-7:00pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Avenue, Colonie. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 11 at 10:00am at the Parish of Mater Christi in Albany. Memorial contributions may be made to Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.
