John A. Delconte

COLONIE – John A. Delconte, 96, of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 04, 2022 at the Inn of Community Hospice.

He was born in Pittston, Pennsylvania and was the son of the late Michael and Rachael Delconte. John served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was employed as a Office Manager for Wilson Foods in Pennsylvania and more recently with the former Ann Lee Nursing Home, from where he retired. He enjoyed the Times Union crossword puzzles, reading the newspaper and watching the New York Yankees.

John is survived by his wife of 73 years, Bruna Pelleschi Delconte. He is the devoted Father of Mara (Michael) Shave and John D. Delconte. He is the proud Papa of Rachael and Jessica Shave and great grandfather of John Ed and Lilliani. John is the brother of Michael (Sylvia) Delconte and the late Frank, Joseph, Frances and Angela. He is the brother-in-law of Pauline Delconte and Nevio Pelleschi. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with John’s family on Wednesday evening from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. A prayer service will be offered at 5:30 pm at the funeral home. Facial coverings are required. The Mass of Christian Burial and entombment will be in Pittston, PA.
