Jo-Ann Turco
February 4, 1949 — October 29, 2017
Mt. Vernon – Jo-Ann Turco, 68, formerly of Mt. Vernon, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Albany Medical Center Hospital.
She was born in Mt. Vernon and was a 1967 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. Jo-Ann was the daughter of the late Alfred Vitti and Mary Scarpati. Ms. Turco was employed in retail in various businesses in the Mt. Vernon and White Plains area. She had totally dedicated her life to her children and her granddaughter. Jo-Ann was a wonderful, kind, considerate, warm, honest person who thought more about other people then herself at all times. In this sometimes cold world we live in it was made all the more warmer by such a singularly unique person that shined like a diamond. Despite her petite frame she had a lot of spunk and always wanted to be on the go spreading joy and enjoying life with her family.
Jo-Ann is the loving mother of Preston A. Turco and Mia Turco. She is the cherished grandmother of Raquel Di Roma. Jo-Ann is also survived by several dear cousins.
Funeral services will be Wednesday evening at 7:00 at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave. Albany, NY 12205. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm at the Cannon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Jo-Ann Turco.
