Jean Marie Connelly, 83, of Maryland Ave East, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021
At St. Peter’s Hospital.
Born on October 6, 1937 in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of Daniel J. and Mary A. (Barber) McCann.
Jean grew up in Albany and was a graduate of Vincentian Institute as well as Albany Business College.
She was employed as the Health and Safety Coordinator with The American Red Cross, retiring after 43 years of service. During her career, she worked numerous local and national disasters as well as the learn to swim program at Lincoln Park of Albany.
Besides her parents, a sister Frances Alexanian preceeded her in death.
She is survived by her spouse, Michael P. Connelly, Sr.; her children: Michele (Steven) Emerick, Terri (Jon) Urbano, Michael (Lisa) Connelly, Jr., Lisa (Patrick) Brown, and Christina (Theodore) Mulberry; 14 Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren; a sister Mary Lou (William) Burkhard, a brother Daniel (Mary) McCann; brother in law Paul Alexanian as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1:00pm, Friday, Jan 8 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Avenue, Albany. Calling hours will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm Thursday, Jan 7 at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave, Colonie.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, The Wounded Warrior Project, or your favorite local animal shelter.
