SCHENECTADY – Ann Robert Tetrault departed this world on Saturday, May 25, 2024. She was the daughter of Aurora and Armand Robert and was born in the Bellevue section of Schenectady.
Ann moved at age nine into a home her father built on Curry Road in Rotterdam with her sister June and younger brothers Jimmy and Armand. Ann graduated from Bigsbee Grammar School and Draper High School and began work as a secretary at the Navy Depot in Scotia-Glenville. In a few years, Ann applied for a high security secretarial position with the Government in Rotterdam that was a forerunner to the Man on the Moon project. She attended Siena College evening classes and earned a Bachelor’s degree in English. A few years later she earned her Master’s degree in English from State University at Albany.
Ann met her husband, Ernie Tetrault at Siena and they later married. They had two children, Ernie James and Ellen June and the love of her life, granddaughter Kendyl Aurora. Ann and Ernie were blessed with many friends over the years and enjoyed life with them.
As her husband’s career expanded, Ann taught classes, sang in the Burnt Hills Oratorio, Thursday Musical Club, Church and volunteered at many venues. Ann was often heard to say that she was incredibly blessed to have been given such a beautiful family life with amazing parents and siblings.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday morning at 9:00 am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish, Rosa Road Schenectady. Interment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. In keeping with Ann’s wishes, please omit flowers.
