Jane A. Perkinson

July 22, 1930 — October 31, 2022

Colonie - Jane Kopczynski Perkinson, 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, October 31, 2022, at her daughter’s home in North Carolina. Born on July 22, 1930, to Martin Kopczynski and Edna Glock Hewitt, Jane grew up on Sheridan Avenue in Albany, raised by her grandparents Frederick and Mamie Mossman Glock. Jane graduated from Albany High School in 1948. She worked 43 years with New York Telephone Company/NYNEX, which later became Verizon, with her dear friends Kathy Sano and the late Craig Hutton. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy/Christ Our Light Church in Loudonville.

Jane resided in Colonie for over 50 years. She enjoyed traveling and frequently visited Lake Placid (Keene Valley), Puerto Rico, and Las Vegas. She also visited Ireland and went on several cruises with her late husband Mike. They liked to visit casinos where she played the slot machines. She enjoyed going on bus trips with her late friend Alice Hackett.  Jane loved animals and was a big supporter of Steve Caporizzo’s Pet Connection. Jane’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was always there to support her grandchildren at school activities, attending sports games, concerts, plays, and graduations.  In 2019, Jane moved to North Carolina to live with her daughter and family. While there, she went camping and on several trips to the NC Coast, where she celebrated her 90th birthday. She was a fan of Duke Basketball and got to visit Duke and see Coach K before he retired. She enjoyed watching football and having dinner on Sundays at her granddaughter's house. She often went on drives with her son-in-law, Wally. She visited lots of different breweries and ate lots of her favorite treats, Krispy Kreme donuts. Over the last 3 years, she truly lived her best life.

Jane was predeceased by her parents, as well as her step-father Ernest Hewitt. She was the wife of the late Michael E. Perkinson. She is survived by her children, Joanne Huba, Joseph (Johanna) Levanites, and Maryanne (Walter) Davis, as well as her sisters, Carole Miller and Janice Huskisson, both of Phoenix, Arizona, and her sister-in-law Bernice Clayton. She was the proud Nanny of Kayleigh (Bill) Ohrin, William (Erin) Huba, Justin (Alyssa) Davis, and Miranda Levanites, and Great Nanny of Thomas, Jason, and Max Davis, Arya Huba, and Ellie Jane Ohrin. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and good friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 11:00 am at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville.
