Jane T. Henry

March 1, 1926 — July 25, 2018

ALBANY - Jane Teresa (Burriesi) Henry, 92, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2018.

Jane was born on March 1,1926 in Albany, to the late Helen (Murray) and Andrew Burriesi.  She was predeceased by her stepfather John Hargrave, her beloved husband Glen, and her daughter in law Gale Henry.Jane grew up in North Albany, a very devoted daughter, granddaughter and niece. Jane was a devout Catholic throughout her life.  She spent many years on the Fr. Ralph D'Orio ministry and as a member of Christ the King Church.

In her youth Jane was an avid roller-skater (Skateleers). This was where she met her beloved Glendon Henry in 1941.  Jane was a 1943 graduate of Vincentian High School.  Jane and Glen married on July 30, 1945 and remained devoted to each other until Glen’s passing in 2010.

Jane spent the majority of her life in Albany where she and Glen raised their 5 children.  Jane and Glen also had a home in Punta Gorda Florida where she spent many late evenings playing scrabble with her neighbors and friend Diane. Jane had an exuberance for life and found fun in everything she did. Jane was known for her stylish dress, pink lipstick, insatiable sweet tooth, passion for life and devotion to family and church. Ever the ultimate salesperson, she enjoyed engaging with people in retail and real estate endeavors. Jane had 8 grandchildren whom she loved dearly and taught them that the secret to longevity was a daily hot fudge sundae!  She also loved music, cards, scrabble, drawing and dancing. She was kind and generous and instilled these values in her children.  She will be deeply missed by her family.

Jane is survived by her 5 children Glendon J Henry (Bernadette), Mary Ellen Henry (Susan), Michael Henry (Margaret), Jeanne Fass (Peter), Patricia Cole (Gary), as well as her 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She is the former mother in law of Kristine Henry.

Jane’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Peregrine Senior Living at Colonie, where we know her humor will be missed.
