James T. Miles, affectionately known as “Tony” transitioned from labor to eternal life on September 9th, 2022, at the age of 69 from natural causes. He was born May 25, 1953, in Albany, NY to the late Deacon Nathaniel Parker, Sr and Margaret Parker.
Tony received his formal education from the Albany City School District followed by his long-term employment as an asbestos handler with the local 201. Tony was a Hazardous Material Supervisor after he closed his own business in upholstery. In 1993 Tony married Allison Miles, his forever friend, and they created four beautiful children.
In Tony’s free time, he loved fishing, eating, spending time with his family and laughing. You can always depend on Tony for a good laugh. Tony had a listening ear, always gave good advice, had a strong heart, a love for God and a strong spirit of faith. Tony’s greatest accomplishment in life was all of his children. He loved them all deeply.
In addition to his parents, Tony was predeceased by his sister Dyann E. Parker and Dorothy Thomas; and brothers, Alfred Parker, Lowell “Gene” Parker, Nathaniel Parker Jr, William Thomas, brother-in-law David Maye and sister-in-law KarynAnne Marable Parker
Tony leaves to cherish his memory his children Aja, Michelle Bertrand, Andy Bertrand, Jason Bertrand, Michael Miles, Jasmin Miles, Alana Miles, Milan Miles; Grandchildren Damien Miles, Makaila Miles, Kamila Miles, Amari Bertrand, Liana Bertrand, and Jaquan Bertrand; Siblings Andrew Parker, Chevail Maye, Faye Diane Simpson, Patricia Nelson, Monique Hatchett Johnson, God-Son Davone Maye and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Services will be held on Friday, September 16th in the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. Viewing from 10 – 11 a.m. with a service starting at 11 a.m. To leave a message of condolence for the family, visit www.cannonfuneral.com.
