Slingerlands-Helen M. Marchese, beloved sister, aunt, and great aunt, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024. Helen was born in Buffalo to the late Anthony and Helen Malek Todaro. Helen taught school in western New York before working for the New York State Department of Corrections where she coordinated educational programs statewide. After retiring from NYS, Helen went to school for massage therapy which she practiced privately and as a volunteer for Hospice. Helen also worked at the Saratoga Race Course for a number of summers. In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her brother Robert. She is survived by her sister Diana Augustine (late Joseph), her nephews Mark and Paul Augustine and Anthony Todaro, and several great nieces and nephews. Helen is also survived by many cousins and friends. Helen had a unique style all her own; she was warm, witty, and adventurous. It was always such a joy to be in her presence.
