Helen D’Amico, 93, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Ellis Hospital.
Born in Hudson, NY on March 14, 1930, she was the daughter of Stephen and Anna Drabic.
Helen grew up in Albany and was a graduate of Albany High School.
She married Rocco D’Amico and they enjoyed 59 years of marriage until his passing in 2010.
Helen retired from Albany County Department of Child Protective Services where she was employed as a typist.
She was a communicant of All Saints Catholic Church (formerly St. Margaret Mary) where she was past president of the Senior’s Club.
She will be remembered as being a very social person and enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, and gardening. Helen spent the last 6 years at Parkland Gardens in Kingsway village where she made many wonderful friends.
Survivors include two sons: Rocco (Colleen) D’Amico of Watertown, CT and Stephen (Debbie) D’Amico of Niskayuna; grandchildren: Peter, Marta, William, Anna, and David; great-grandchildren: Anastasia and Paige; and a sister Nancy Stangle of Albany.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 15th at All Saints Catholic Church (formerly St. Margaret Mary) at 9:00 am where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. There are no calling hours. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
