George C. Simone

George C. Simone, 72, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2017 at Albany Medical Center. He was born in Schenectady and was the son of the late George A. and Gladys McKay Simone.

George is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Janet Forshaw Simone. He is the brother in law of Richard and Karen Forshaw. He is the uncle of Tara Forshaw (Jason Benoit) and great uncle of Ava, Trevor and Liam Weakley. Several cousins also survive.

George worked as a loader with Price Chopper for many years. Along with his wife Janet, they were often seen boating on Lake George. George and Janet enjoyed visiting the Daytona, FL beach shores where they reunited with their boating friends and met many new special friends.

Calling hours will be Monday from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union Street, Schenectady. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm at the Funeral Home.  Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or St. George’s Episcopal Church, 30 North Ferry Street, Schenectady, NY 12305 in memory of George C. Simone.
