Albany - Gary Carden affectionately known as Mickey departed this life July 16, 2022. Gary was born May 18, 1963 to Anna D. Ferrell Carden and Jack Elmore Carden in South Boston Virginia. Gary relocated with his family to Albany New York at a very young age. He was educated in the Albany Public School System and later on furthered his education at the Glenmont Job Corps Center. While attending Job Corps. Gary received certificates in Carpentry and Culinary Arts. Gary love to remodel houses, he loved to play basketball, boxing, go fishing and cooking. Gary worked as a sous chef for Jack’s Oyster House for many years.  He enjoyed his job working alongside his best friend David Fredericks.  Gary loved his children, his nieces and nephews very much.  He loved to play fight with them all the time. When he was done play fighting with you, you would feel like you were in a real fight and all you could do is laugh through the soreness, to keep from crying. He loved to crack jokes and make you laugh. Gary had the biggest and loudest laugh you could ever hear. He will forever be missed by his family. Gary was truly Loved.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children
Keiona Keya Carden and Deanna Carden both of Schenectady New York. Jarel Kaseem Carden-Hall of Sanford North Carolina, Jajuan Markeem Carden, LaQueesha Monae Carden and Monnell Jasius Carden-Hall all of Albany NY. One brother Lawrence Carden and one sister Jacqueline Carden. Two aunts: Mary Terry and Edmonia Adams of Morrisville, North Carolina, two uncles: Alfred Ferrell  of Jacksonville, North Carolina and Andrew Ferrell of Clover, Virginia, 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, his wife Jacqueline Carden, his best friend David Fredericks and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Gary was predeceased in death by his parents Jack and Anna Carden, two sisters Minnie Carden and Lisa Carden, his brother Jerome Carden, one grandson and one granddaughter.
A going home celebration for Gary Carden will be
Friday July 22,2022 at Cannon Funeral Home
Visitation: 10am
Service: 11am
Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery
Repass Celebration: will be at Grace and Mercy Church of God in Christ
