Albany - Frederick J. Belfance Sr., 75, of Duanesburg, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 18th, 2018 at St. Peter’s Hospital, following a long illness.
Fred was born on July 28, 1943 in West Point, NY to the late Ellen and Edward Belfance.
Fred was an outdoor sportsman who loved to hunt and fish. His love of hunting and fishing was shared with his sons, son-in-law, and grandsons who spent the fall hunting season at Camp Penny John in Minerva.
Fred spent most of his career as a union commercial floor installer. He also owned and operated a local floor covering store in Schenectady. In 1976, he brought his family to Speculator, NY where he was the resident manager of Camp Fowler.
Fred was predeceased by his grandson Robert Frederick Belfance. He is survived by his brother, Edward; as well as 4 children: Frederick Jr. (Alison), Pamela (Jeff), Paul (Laurie), and Kimberly. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Ashley Marlow (Kyle), Jacob Laurent, Jenna, Theresa, Zachary and Matthew Belfance, and one great-grandson Jack Marlow. He is also survived by several extended family members and dear friends.
Per his request, there will be no calling hours or services. He will be greatly missed.
