COLONIE – Eva Bahlatzis, 85, of Colonie, passed away on February 01, 2024 in Bennington Vermont.
She was born in Patras, Greece and was the daughter of the late Emmanuel and Theodora Apolini. Eva came to the United States in 1970 and became an American Citizen.
She was a faithful Orthodox Christian and a longtime volunteer at her church. Eva was a kind, gentle soul that always had a smile for everyone. She made everyone feel special and was a tremendous cook, baker and hostess. Eva treasured gardening and being with her family and friends. She was a talented seamstress at Cohoes Mfg. and Spector’s Men’s Apparel.
Eva was predeceased by her beloved husband Spiro in 2001. She is the devoted mother of Michael S. Bahlatzis. Eva is the sister of the late Titika Kostopoulou and Anna Apolini. She is the sister-in-law of Danny and Gail Bahlatzis. Eva is the cherished aunt of Debbie (Michael) Kenneally, Michael (Kim), Billy (Susan) Bahlatzis, John (LoAn) Sotiropoulos and Stavros (Christina) Kostopoulou. Several grand nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 11:00 at St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Church, 440 Whitehall Rd. Albany. Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 at the Church. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and at the request of the family, memorial contributions may be made to St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church.
