Ellen M. Schroll

ROTTERDAM – Ellen M. Schroll, 77, of Rotterdam, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Saratoga Hospital. She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Albert and Lillian Powers Led Duke. Ellen was predeceased by her beloved husband James M. Schroll in 2007.

She was a licensed practical nurse at St. Clare’s Hospital for many years. Ellen lived life to the fullest and was always on the go. She enjoyed traveling, golfing and volunteering at Proctors Theatre. She was the Past President of the Melodear’s choir and a LORE of the Rotterdam Elks. Ellen had many dear family and friends with whom she shared her summers with, at her happy place, Lake Nancy.

Ellen is the beloved mother of Donna (Edward) Gerner, Sandra (Stephen) Hicks, Kathleen (Harvey) Wade and Robert (Sandra) Schroll. She is the cherished companion of Norman Jette. Ellen is also survived by four sisters, a sister in law, 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 9:00 at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Schenectady where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie.  Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
