Albany – Eleanor Lambiase, 91, of Watervliet, NY, passed away on April 7, 2018 at Teresian House.
She was born Eleanor Ruggiero in Camden, NJ; and moved to Watervliet in 2014. She was the loving mother of Ann Marie Marusak (Thomas) and Gaetan Lambiase Jr. (Cheryl); Dedicated Grandmother of Jeffrey Marusak (Ashley), Kristen Murphy (Brian), Laura Santoro (Anthony), Ashley Lambiase, and Justin Lambiase; and Devoted Great Grandmother of William and Luke Murphy and Charlie Marusak. Eleanor is survived by her identical twin sister, Dorothy Furguson (Hollywood, FL). She is predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Gaetan.
During her working years, she assisted in the family Pizza business and also worked as a cafeteria school aid in Mount Laurel, NJ. Eleanor was widely known for her love of family, friends, food and Faith. Since moving with her husband to Albany in 2013, she resided at Shaker Pointe where she enjoyed being an active member of the bocci ball league. Living close to her daughter and grandchildren allowed her the opportunity to continue with one of her favorite activities - cooking Italian dinners and baking biscotti desserts. She had a great love for children, not only her own, but all children. One of her many folksy sayings was “...to see the world through the eyes of a child is to enjoy the beauty of life.”
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 23rd, 11:00 AM at St. Pius X Church in Loudonville. Memorial contributions in Eleanor’s name may be made to The Teresian House Foundation, 200 Washington Ave Ext., Albany, NY 12203.
