GUILDERLAND – Eileen McCarthy Haggerty. It is with deep regret we mourn the death of Eileen Haggerty. A longtime resident of Guilderland, Eileen passed on March 27, 2025 at St. Peter’s Hospital after a brief illness with her family at her side.
She was born in Greenfield, MA on March 27, 1952 to the late Nan and John McCarthy. Eileen is survived by her husband of 49 years, Stephen; her sons Steven (Danai) and Daniel (Jenna). She was predeceased by her son William. Eileen is the loving grandmother of Alivia, Mikaela, Henley, Emerson and Poppy. She is the sister of John McCarthy. Eileen is the sister in law of Joan Noonan, Patty (Mark) Varno, Beth (Mike) Sontz, Robert (Gayle), Timothy (Kim), Chris (Patti), Jim (Kristen) and Mike (Lori) Haggerty. Eileen is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was a talented florist, owning several floral shops. She retired from Holland Florist in 2022. Eileen was member of McKownville Volunteer Fire Dept. where she was known for hosting several dinners throughout the years and establishing many lifelong relationships.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 5th at 11:00 am at Christ the King Church, Guilderland. A calling hour will precede the Mass, from 10 to 11 am at the Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, (www.cancer.org).
