Edward M. Mooney

Edward M. Mooney, 83, of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2024, while surrounded by family.

Ed was born and raised in Albany and was the son of the late Raymond and Catherine Mooney. He attended school in Albany and was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was employed by Albany County Social Services for several years before retiring. Ed was then employed part-time at the Albany County Courthouse. He was an avid Notre Dame football and Yankees fan. Edward was a loving and generous man who lived for his family, especially his grandchildren.

Edward was predeceased by his beloved wife of 51 years, Joanne M. Mooney. Ed is the devoted father of Brian (Michelle) Mooney and Erin (Tyson) Ruecker.

He is the loving grandfather of Liam, Nora, Ashley and Madison. Edward is the brother of Margaret Comard, Joseph Mooney and the late Raymond Mooney. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Ed will be dearly missed by his canine companion, Riley.

Funeral Services will be private. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetary, Menands. Memorial contributions can be made in Ed's memory to Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204.
