SCHENECTADY - On Saturday, March 6, 2021, Edward C. Johnson (Tony) went from labor to reward.

He was born January 29, 1930 in Athens, GA. As a Teenager, he relocated to Albany, NY, and met the love of his life, Juanita Diggs Johnson.  He worked for many years at Wolberg Electric, where lighting was his passion.  Ed was a hard worker, hanging lights or running wires at home and Morning Start Missionary Baptist Church. He took pride in ensuring the equipment at Church was in the proper working order. He gave his time with a smile or a laugh. When he was no longer able, he passed the baton to the next generation.

He leaves to mourn his wife of 70+ years Juanita Diggs Johnson, daughter Valarie Johnson, his brother Willie J. Johnson, Special Daughters Rolene Ford and Teresa Gailliard. He is preceded in death by his son Ralph (Denny) and daughter Susan Walker (Wayman), and his brother Samuel R. Johnson. To cherish his memory, he leaves his Grand Children Denise, Ralph, Sherri, Manny, Kerstin, Karis, and Domenica, 12 Great-grandchildren, and 25 Great-greatgrandchildren. A host of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1pm, on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Parkview Cemetery, 4 Fehr Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12304. The family asks you to please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
