Doris J. Young

COLONIE – Doris J. Young, 92, of Colonie, passed away on Monday evening at the Teresian House, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Colonie and was the daughter of the late John and Lena Humphrey. Doris was predeceased by her beloved husband Frederick L. Young in 1990.

Doris had worked as an aide at Forest Park Elementary School in Colonie for over thirty years. She was a caring, giving woman and loved helping the children. She enjoyed painting, golfing, tennis and quilting. Doris attended Mass daily and was devoted to praying the rosary. She was loved by all and will be dearly missed.

Doris is the beloved mother of Frederick W. (Paula) Young, Sandralee (Henry) Noel and Timothy A. (Jane) Young. She is the sister of Leona Clough and Theresa (William) O’Connell. Doris is the cherished Gram of Amy (Michael) Lynch, Shawn (Brenda) Noel, John (Lani) Young, Freddy (Sara) Young and Kelly (Rob) Gilchrist. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Doris’ family on Friday morning from 8:30 to 10:30 am at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am at St. Clare’s Church, 1947 Central Ave., Colonie.
