Donald F. Murphy

Albany – Donald F. Murphy, 86, a longtime resident of McCarty Avenue and currently of Winner’s Circle, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center.

Donald attended St. Joseph’s Academy and was a longtime coach at Whitehall Little League. Don worked hard his whole life and retired from Pepsi Cola Company. He never missed one of his children or grandchildren’s events.

Don was predeceased by his parents James Harold and Ella Heeran Murphy. He is survived by his wife Jane C. (Prince) Murphy whom he married on October 15, 1955. He is the devoted father of Kathleen Busch (late Kevin), James (Maureen) Murphy, Eileen Faughnan, David Murphy and Timothy (Rachel) Murphy. He is the grandfather of Sarah (Gary) Brazzell, Mike (Kim) Busch, Brian (Jess) Murphy, Jacqueline (Gerard) O’Shea, Erin (Tim) Smith, Kate Faughnan and the late Tommy Faughnan. Don is the great-grandfather of Kristian (Alexa), Nicholas, Killian, Jocelynn, Blake, Camryn, Rowan, Gavin, Adelyn, Connor and the great-great grandfather of Junie Mae.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, November 4, at Christ Our Light Church, 1 Maria Drive, Colonie. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Church, prior to the Mass.
