Albany - Denise Ellen King (Boettner) passed away peacefully on December 4th at the age of 64, after a short battle with lung cancer.
Born April 26, 1960 to Dorothy (Zink) and Frederick Boettner, Denise was a long-time resident of Albany, where she lived with her husband of 43 years, Kelly King, Sr. Denise worked at OGS for many years where she formed some long-time friendships. In her retirement years, she enjoyed watching Blue Bloods with her husband, supervising him in the garden, and listening to her police scanner for any local drama. She was a loving wife, mother, and sister. She leaves behind her husband – Kelly King Sr., 4 children – William (Kimberly), Kelly Jr. (Emily), Heather (Martin), and Erin, and 7 grandchildren – Martin, Will Jr., Harper, Jaymari, Eric, Nora, and Landon. She also leaves behind 3 siblings – Frederick Boettner, Douglas Boettner, and Deborah Wojnar (Boettner), and many, many cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Memorial Service celebrating Denise’s life will be held at Cannon Funeral Home on 2020 Central Ave, Colonie on Thursday December 12th from 4-6pm. Friends are invited to join the family for dinner following the service.
