Demetrios G. Lathouris

Schenectady, NY - Demetrios G. “Dimi” Lathouris, 65, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at his home.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Emmanuel and Efthimia (Andrews) Lathouris.

Dimi grew up in Deer Park, NY and was a 1972 graduate of Deer Park High School.

He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Empire State College and a Master’s Degree from SUNY Stony Brook.

He was employed as a Technical Director with the Paul Taylor Dance Company and Riverside Church in Manhattan. Dimi was an accomplished carpenter and musician.

He enjoyed Jazz Fusion, R&B, and played the Synthesizer. He enjoyed movies, comics, was an avid NY Jets, Mets, and Knicks fan, and community activist as well as and above all was a dedicated father.

He leaves two sons: Nathaniel Lathouris and Nicholas Lathouris both of Schenectady; two brothers: George (Marge) Lathouris of Marietta, CA and Emmanuel (Jessica) Lathouris of Cornwall, NY; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 1:00pm to 3:00pm Saturday, May 15 at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave, Colonie. A Prayer Service will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday.

Masks are required and social distancing is in effect.
