Dean F. Grugan

COLONIE – Dean F. Grugan, 65, of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Community Hospice Inn at St. Peters Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Owen and Dorothy Grugan. Dean had worked for over 20 years at New York State Teacher’s Retirement system as a supervisor. He was music and karaoke enthusiast. Dean had a huge heart and his door was always open. He was a former social member of Midway Fire Dept.

Dean is the beloved father of Stacey (Dani) Grugan and Jamie-Lyn Grugan (Jasen Surprenant). He is the cherished grandfather of Sierra Surprenant. Dean had a special bond with his adopted sons, Jeremy Krosky and Joe Wolf. He is the brother of Dottie, Peter, Michael, Keith, Tom and Pam. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Dean’s family is most grateful and appreciative of the kind and loving care provided by the entire staff at St. Peter’s Hospital and the Community Hospice Inn.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Dean’s family on Wednesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave. Colonie.
