David J. Longo

COLONIE – David John Longo, 75, of Colonie, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 03, 2024 at St. Peter’s Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Albany to the late Joseph and Rose (Torre) Longo.

David was a devoted husband to Elisa (Magazzu’) Longo for 57 years. He loved his children, grandchildren and his business of fifty-five years.  David loved his Italian Sunday dinners with his family. His favorite dish made by his loving wife was pasta with clams. He enjoyed traveling with his wife to Sicily and Florida. He was a devoted Yankees fan and took great pride when they won against the Mets. David had a sly sense of humor and brought laughter to those around him.

David especially loved his Savior Jesus Christ. He was a founding member of CCLC and Calvary Tabernacle (currently Liberty Church) for many years and served the church his entire life. He was a man of great faith encouraging many in and outside of the church.

In addition to his wife Elisa Longo, David is survived by his children; Joseph (Stacey), Michael (Christina), Daniel (Kimberly), Joshua (Angela) and Laura Longo; his grandchildren, Benjamin, Gideon, Emilia, Asher and Luke. He was predeceased by his brothers, Mario (Domenica) and Joseph Longo (Lillian survives). Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with David’s family on Friday morning from 10:30 to 12 noon at Liberty Church, Albany Street, Schenectady. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon at the Church. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
