David P. Halvey

NISKAYUNA - David P. Halvey, 61, of Niskayuna, passed away on Friday, January 07, 2022 at Ellis Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Amsterdam and is the devoted son of Assunta “Sue” Halvey and the late Richard W. Halvey. David is the beloved husband of Nelida Torres-Halvey. He is the father of Shalyn Halvey, Ashley Halvey and Cecilia (David) Rowe. David is the brother of Richard (Mariann), Michael, Thomas (Robbie), Susan, Kathleen and William Halvey. He is the cherished Grandpa of Giovanni, Mikayla, Celia, Elijah, Gianna and Joshua. David is the brother-in-law of Raymond Torres. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Dave was Service Writer for Tracey Road Equipment in Colonie. He was an avid sports fan. Dave was a longtime baseball umpire with the Capital District Board and basketball referee with Mohawk Valley Board of Women’s Sports Officials. He enjoyed playing softball in the Amsterdam City Night League and he was an active member and volunteer of Abounding Grace Church in Rotterdam.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with David’s family on Wednesday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery, Schenectady.
