NORTH GREENBUSH – David J. Cesari, 62, passed away on Thursday May 2, 2024 at Massachusetts General Hospital after a long courageous battle with heart disease.
David was born in Niagara Falls, NY and was the son of the late Dominic P. and Rita F. Cesari Jr. He grew up in Loudonville and was a graduate of Colonie Central High School and Albany Business College. He enjoyed a career of over forty years with Morgan Linen Service and was currently the President and CEO. David was an active member of the TRSA and he enjoyed walking around the plant socializing with his employees. He was so proud when his daughter, Morgan, joined the business and they were able to work side by side. The cleaning of linens spilled over into David’s personal life. If you knew David, you knew his commitment, if not obsession, with keeping his house and cars spotless. His generosity and benevolence to others was unmatched.
David was a member of Wolferts Roost Country Club and the Italian American Community Center where he was named their 2022 Italian Man of the Year. When he wasn’t being “Papa” to his grandsons, he could often be found watching the Discovery or History Channel. David enjoyed summers at Saratoga Race Course surrounded by many of his friends. More recently David would spend winters in Delray Beach, Florida.
David is the devoted father of Morgan (James) Kovalsky. He is the cherished Papa of Malaki, Kaden and Nolan. David is the dear brother of AnnMarie (Ron) Hartman and Laura (Tom) Jewett. He is the uncle of Christina, Ashley, Dominic and Michael.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with David’s family on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave. Colonie. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 12:30 at St. Pius X Church, Loudonville. Entombment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery.
