Daniel P. Hunzinger

Loudonville - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Daniel Paul Hunzinger, 44, of Loudonville, NY on November 16, 2023. Dan was born on August 6th, 1979, in Utica, a son of Thom and Cindy Hunzinger.

Dan was a simple man who lived every day to the fullest. A cold beer, pizza and his family & friends by his side was all he needed. He found joy coaching on the courts of Colonie and was his children’s #I fan on baseball and softball diamonds from Cooperstown to Maryland. A perfect vacation for Dan was in Lake Placid with Reg or on the beach in Ocean City. He always enjoyed hosting family and friends at his home, welcoming them with a bear hug and his dimpled smile. Those who knew Dan will never watch a Cuse, Giants or Yanks game without remembering him as an avid fan. Every gathering was better when Dan was a part of it.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Regina, his daughter Emma Grace, his son Jack Daniel, mother, Cindy of Utica, brother Michael (Ann Marie) of Rome, sister Laura (Chris) Lewis of Albany, father-in-law Ernest Aurelia and partner Cindy Henninger, mother-in-law Lee Aurelia, in-laws Robyn (Scott) Armando, Matt Aurelia and Debra Swankosky as well as many cousins, aunts and uncles, especially Brian (Marybeth) Swiderski. He was a loving uncle to Tristan, Aidan, Jace, Max, Mattie and Brady.  Dan was predeceased by his father, Thom Hunzinger, paternal grandparents Erwin and Frances Hunzinger, and maternal grandparents Jacob and Felicia Swiderski.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Dan’s family on Monday from 4 to 7 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 12 noon at St. Pius X Church, Loudonville.
