COLONIE – Clifford F. Carignan, 70, of Colonie, passed away suddenly at his residence of Tuesday, July 18, 2017. He was born in Niskayuna and was the son of the late Leo W. and Helen Carignan.
Cliff served in the US Marine Corps from 1966-1968, discharged as a Lance Corporal. He was a counter sales representative for Wolberg Electric in Albany for over 40 years. Cliff was a longtime member and officer of the Fuller Road Fire Dept. He served the fire department in many capacities and was recognized as the Fireman of the Year in 1987 and for 50 years of service in 2015. He enjoyed Nascar and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees.
Cliff is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sharon Lovely Carignan. He is the devoted father of Clifford Carignan Jr. (Jo), Gayle Bonney (Donnell) and Jennifer Lounsbury (Chance Pollock). He is the cherished grandfather of William, Nicholas and Alexander. Cliff is the brother of Linda Talarico (Jim) and the late Wayne L. Carignan.
Funeral services with full departmental honors will be Saturday morning at 9:30 at Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fuller Rd. Fire Department, 1342 Central Ave., Albany, NY 12205, for the benefit of Explorer Post 1342.
