Colonie - On Monday, April 19, 2021, Charlie Louise Fernandez, 7, entered heaven’s playground where she can see all the puppies again and run and jump with all of her friends that have passed. Charlie came into the world as a vibrant, ball of energy and sass on August 13, 2013.
In her new home in heaven, she is playing with her small figurines, watching tv (TOTS and Fancy Nancy), blowing bubbles, writing with chalk, hiding toys on “sister”, sitting poolside throwing diamonds down to Lizzie for diving, eating cheese-sticks, strawberries, pizza, filet mignon from Jamonico’s (Delmonico’s), and ice cream, all while wearing her go-to outfit (Gidget shirt and dinosaur skirt), and playing with her My Little Pony Mermaids under her most favorite blanket.
Charlie had a love for school. She couldn’t wait to see her friends and teachers especially, Sarah Norton and her puppies, George and Henry.
At age 5, she was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma but that never stopped her from doing anything she wanted to do even when it took her eyesight. She adapted so well to life without being able to see. In her short time on earth, she was a true inspiration to everyone.
Charlie is survived by her parents Jason and Danielle (Boisvert) Fernandez, her sister McKenzie (Kenzie!, 3) along with her grandparents Charlene Uhl and Michael Conlon; and Harvey and Sharon Boisvert. The niece of Jennifer (Michael) Nettleton; first cousins to Michael and Haley Nettleton. As well as many great-grandparents, great aunts and uncles, cousins, and wonderful friends and fur friends.
We would like to thank the wonderful staff at AMC on D7 and Melodies for all of the care that was provided to Charlie over the 2½ years. We would also like to thank the Colonie community for all the support they have shown us over Charlie's 7 years.
