Catherine M. Harrison

LOUDONVILLE – Catherine M. Harrison, 89, of Loudonville, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Eddy Village Green. She was born in Brooklyn and was the daughter of the late Gandolfo “Matty”, and Anna (Fiore) DiGiovanni. After Anna’s death she was raised & loved by Matty’s second wife Lucy DiGiovanni . Catherine was predeceased by her husband Paul E. Harrison in 1999.

She was a founding member and former Chairperson of the Albany County Lay Diabetes Assoc. Catherine was an accountant/bookkeeper for St. Gregory’s School in Loudonville for several years. More recently, she worked for Allstate Insurance company. Catherine was a longtime volunteer with the USO and the Captain John J. McKenna IV Military Courtesy Room at the Albany Airport.

She is the devoted mother of Glen (Suzanne) Harrison, Kenneth (Patricia) Harrison, and the late Barbara Hofmann and Diane Smith. Catherine is the sister of Marie (Barry) Neuwirth and the late John and Janice DiGiovanni. She is the grandmother of Sara, Caitlin (Justin), Jessica, Matthew, Alyssa, Joshua (Anna), Courtney, Megan (Zach) and Danielle. She is the great grandmother of Greyson, Joslyn, Vienna, Serenity and Parker and beloved Aunt to Allen (Kelly) Neuwirth, Lori (Matt) Narlinger, Justin, James & Kaylie.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Catherine’s family on Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10:00 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Latham. Entombment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
