Rotterdam - Carolyn Milazzo, 81, of Cushing Lane, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021 at St. Peter’s Hospital following a period of declining health.
Born on March 26, 1939 in Albany, NY, she was the eldest daughter of Walter and Anna (Conti) Labunski.
Carolyn grew up in Albany and was a graduate of Philip Schuyler High School.
On October 7, 1962, she married Francis John Milazzo in Albany. In 1967, they moved to Rotterdam and raised their family.
Carolyn retired from SUNY Albany where she worked as a supervisor in the computer center.
She was a longtime parishioner of St. Gabriel’s Church in Rotterdam.
Over the years, she enjoyed watching and travelling with her sons as they played baseball and in later years with her granddaughters as they played softball.
She enjoyed spending summers at Ocean City, NJ with her sister in law and brother in law Annette & Bill Hallman.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Francis who died in 1980, an infant sister Geraldine, a sister Joann Mayou brother in laws Ray “Buck” DeGonza and William Hallman.
She leaves her loving sons Joseph Milazzo of Rotterdam and Frank Milazzo and his wife Michelle of Valatie; granddaughters: Cassidy, Isabella, and Abigail; siblings: Barbara Labunski of Colonie, Jeanette Caricari of Colonie, Roberta DeGonza of Albany, Helen McCloud and her husband Robert of Nassau, Joseph Labunski and his wife Liz of Stillwater, Don Labunski and his wife Beth of Slingerlands, and Michael Labunski and his wife Elena of Selkirk, sister in law Annette Hallman of Bethlehem, PA as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Friday, March 19 at St. Gabriels Church, 3040 Hamburg Street, Rotterdam. Friends and family may call from 8:00am to 10:00am Friday (prior to the church service) at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Avenue, Colonie. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
Memorial donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness at www.komen.org. The family would like to thank the Eddy Visiting Nurses and Physical Therapy for their care and compassion and a special thank you to Anita of the Eddy.
