Carol T. Majkut

August 15, 1935 — May 30, 2018

COLONIE - Carol T. Majkut, 82, of Colonie, passed away on Wednesday May 30, 2018 after a long illness. She was born in Watervliet and was the daughter of the late Adelbert and Ethel Bachelder. Carol was predeceased by her beloved husband of 63 years, Stanley Majkut in 2017.

She will always be remembered as a wonderful, wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, Great grandmother, aunt and friend. Along with her husband, Carol was very instrumental in the creation and development of Mobile Air Transport in Latham, and that business gave her family the means to buy Lishakill Road which they made into Heaven on earth. She and her husband hosted many gatherings such as family reunions, weddings, graduations, New Years day celebrations that included the silliest of dances and of course birthdays in their home and each one was always made special by her touch. She was quick to be put others first and truly enjoyed time with her cherished family. With her sincere welcoming spirit, Carol’s home was always open to everyone. She loved the holidays with family. One of the best days of the week were always Sunday for her, She knew no matter what, her grandson Tony would be coming for a visit and bringing her lunch or dinner. They shared the most remarkable memories about the past every week, and as she grew more tired, those visits became some of her most cherished moments.

She is the beloved mother of Paul Murray (Judy), Linda Majkut, Lora Fox (Edwin) and Betsey VanDenburgh (Jack). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She is the sister of the late Edward Bacheldor and Ethel Ann Thomas.

Carol would want you to remember that family is everything and that no matter what you fight about, no matter how much time passes between visits, no matter the distance you live apart, family is love, life, and happiness and no money or tangible item can ever replace spending time together.

Funeral services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in Carol’s name to Ronald McDonald House, 139 S. Lake Ave. Albany, NY 12208.
