Carmella Casullo

October 17, 1921 — April 16, 2017

ALBANY – Carmella Casullo, 95, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Philomena and Giuseppe Petrucci.

Carmella was the wife of the late Michael Casullo, Sr. for 64 years. In their time together, they created a beautiful, loving family that she cherished more than words can describe. Her greatest love was being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carmella enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, gardening and family holiday dinners. She always remembered a birthday, and to give a big kiss before leaving (sometimes more than once!).

Along with her husband, Carmella was predeceased by seven siblings, and grandson Michael Casullo, III.

She will be missed by her children, Sandra (Alfred) Cutturini of Day, Michele (Owen) Burns of Colonie, and Michael (Marcia) Casullo of Westerlo; grandchildren, Alfred (Morgan) Cutturini, Mark Cutturini, Lisa (Tim) Gyurovits, Stacy (Scott) McHale-McBain, Chris (Lynne) Dowse, Nicholas (Tracy) Burns, Kierstin (Caity) Burns, Kimberly (John) Horan, and Matthew Casullo, and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Avenue, Albany. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice Foundation, 310 S. Manning Blvd. Albany, NY 12208 in Carmella’s name.
