Burton C. Benziger

November 26, 1927 — March 22, 2017

REXFORD – Burton Charles Benziger, 89, passed away on March 22, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Chicago and was the son of the late Burton S. and Miriam Benziger. He lived in the Capital District in retirement also resided Safety Harbor Florida and Wells, Maine.

Burton served in the US Navy during WWII. The Navy sent him for training at Rensselear Polytechnic Institute, introducing him to the Capital District. He was a mechanical engineer and enjoyed a long career with New York State Office of General Services. Burton was dedicated to his loving family, his work, his church and his country. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of fifty years, Ann Flanagan Benziger and his second wife, Dorothy Pierce Benziger.

Burton will be deeply missed by his 3 children, Loree Benziger (Jonathan Lange), Jay (Emily) Benziger and Tanah (Mark) Corelli, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He is the brother of Ray Benziger and the late Altanah Chulay. A devoted member of Faith Lutheran Church Troy, New York and Northwood Presbyterian Church Clearwater, Florida.
