Colonie - Bruce C. Trier, 75, of Colonie, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
He was born on November 10, 1948, in Schenectady, to William and Maryin Trier. He was a 1967 graduate of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School. At the height of the Vietnam War, Bruce enlisted in the United States Army where he served in Germany from 1968-1971.
After the birth of his first child, Rachael, in Germany, Bruce made his way back to the United States where he would find his calling as a musician. Being a key member of several bands across the country such as Apricot Brandy, Highstreet Carnival, Skippy and The Pistons, Wizard, and New Moon. Welcoming two more daughters, Melissa and Lauren, throughout his time as a keyboardist and vocalist cemented his role as a “girl dad.”
Bruce met the love of his life, Faith Turner-Trier, in 1993 and got married on December 26th, 1999. They spent years riding Harley’s together in Myrtle Beach, Florida, Tennessee, Maine, Vermont, and the German Alps. Bruce enjoyed the serenity and peacefulness of a long motorcycle ride on a beautiful day. As three daughters turned into five grandchildren, Bruce and Faith welcomed their beloved papillons, Gizmo, Fritz, Gabriel, and Sterling, into the chaos of Poppy and Oma’s house. Bruce found comfort in cooking for his family and creating legendary recipes that were staples at barbeques. Dishes that have become famous amongst those around him. Bruce will be remembered for his musical genius, love of his family, Dad jokes, and warmly welcoming his “babies” at every family function.
Bruce is predeceased by his parents, William and Maryin Trier. Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Faith Turner-Trier, daughters, Rachael Colucciello, Melissa Bulson (Scott), and Lauren Kent (Ryan), sister, Christine Trier, brother, Eric Trier, and grandchildren; Seth Colucciello, Brett Colucciello, Kendall Bulson, Lilliana Kent, and Paige Kent.
There will be a private celebration of his life at his home. Please contact the family for more information.
