Brian T. Leach

COLONIE – Brian T. Leach, 85, of Colonie, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at his residence.

He was born in Salford, Lancashire, England and was the son of the late Thomas J. and Florence Leach. Brian was a self-employed home builder and worked as a carpenter for over thirty years with Local 370 in Albany. He was an avid gardener and spent countless hours working in his yard.  He took great pride in caring for his lawn and the birds in the backyard.   Brian was always one to lend his knowledge, skills and talent as a true craftsman to help others with their home projects and will be remembered for his unique sense of humor.

He is the beloved husband of sixty years to Ellen McCann Leach. He is the devoted father of David (Anastasia) Leach, Neil (Diane) Leach, James (Kelly) Leach, Susan (Gregory) McCumber and Brian (Colleen) Leach. He is the dear brother of Bernard and Vincent Leach, Moria King, Margaret Fox, Theresa Miller, Veronica Borden, Ann Gallerie and the late Florence Leach. He is the cherished grandfather of Taylor (Mike) Spellman, Jason, Brendan, Derek, Ryan, Sarah, Kristen, and Sean Leach; and Lily and Molly McCumber. He is the great grandfather of Emma and Cameron Spellman. Brian is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 8:30 at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie then to St. Clare’s Church at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
