Benjamin C. Cannistraci

Malta - Benjamin Christian Cannistraci passed away unexpectedly on April 1, 2018.  He was 50.  He is the son of Joseph and Ida Cannistraci of Malta, NY.  He is survived by his brothers, Joseph S. Cannistraci of Saratoga Springs, New York, and David D. Cannistraci of Lakeland, Florida.  He loved his stepson Victor, his nephew Lucas and his nieces Gabrielle and Lilah.  He was fond of his extended Italian family:  his aunts, uncles and many cousins, both here and in Italy, as well as his two aunts and many cousins in Switzerland.  Ben attended the University of Florida in Gainesville.  He enjoyed playing his guitar and was a lifelong fan of various types of music.  Ben was a longtime employee of Rent-A-Center in Mechanicville, NY.  He will be remembered by many for his unfailing generosity of spirit and contagious sense of humor.

Funeral services will be Friday morning at 8:15 at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave. Colonie then to St. Clare’s Church at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Benjamin C.
