Barbara E. “Barb” Youchah, 50, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by family following a long illness. She was originally from Clifton Park, NY, and graduated from Shenendehowa High School in 1992. In 1997 Barb graduated from SUNY Oneonta with a degree in General Studies and a concentration in water resources management and meteorology. She found joy working with people and catering to their needs. She worked her way through the hospitality industry, starting as a bartender and growing into positions in business travel sales and internet marketing management. She additionally performed director level positions in catering and sales. Finally, wanting to delve deeper into her work in relationship management and to live in a beach community, she obtained her real estate license and worked in the Eastern Monmouth NJ region.
Barb was an incredibly positive person and self-proclaimed that kindness to others was her superpower. She was a dreamer that inspired greatness in her colleagues, friends, and family. She wore her heart on her sleeve and a big smile on her face. In her younger years she played softball and rugby. She also skied, and ran track. Later in life, she was an active snowboarder, participated in distance running events, and played golf. Barb was an involved member of her community who took great pride and received immense satisfaction from all of the causes she helped to promote and support.
She is pre-deceased by her grandparents, Betty and Harris Rodgers (Corning, NY), Kate Youchah (Boca Raton, Fl ), Victor Youchah (Clifton Park, NY), her aunt, Elvira Rodgers Fitzgerald (Philadelphia, PA), her uncle Jack Youchah ( Florida, NY) and her faithful, four-legged, companion Maris.
Survivors include her parents: Martin and Patricia (Rodgers) Youchah of Clifton Park; brother Scott Youchah and his wife Heather Nye of St. Alban’s, VT; nephews: Nathan and Alexander Youchah and nieces: Sophie Nye and Jazlyn Nye-Nguyen, her uncle, Harris Rodgers (Largo, Fl), her aunt Susan Youchah (Congers, NY) as well as several cousins, and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30am Monday, June 17 at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Avenue, Colonie. Calling hours will be held from 10:00am to 11:30am at the funeral home prior to the service. Entombment will be at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
