Albany - Ann V. (Fleig) Cruden, 90, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2023. She was born on March 30, 1933, and grew up in Albany, NY. Ann worked for the State of New York prior to finding the love of her life and getting married.
Ann lived for her family. She raised her four sons in their Colonie home and then moved to their 10-acre home in Schodack. She spent days with her boys by the pool and loved to walk their beautiful Schodack property with her children and the dogs. She cherished being home with family.
In later years, she loved to vacation with her husband. They would spend winters in Aruba and summers on the Jersey shore. She loved the sea and was a collector of all thing’s seashore. When her grandchildren arrived, she then spent time with them in the pool and on the shore.
Ann loved to cook and was famous for her spaghetti sauce and meatballs. in fact, at Christmas, she would wrap spaghetti pasta under the tree, and everyone knew they scored a quart of her sauce waiting in the freezer. Her mashed potatoes were also a family favorite... no lumps were ever found!
Ann is survived by her 4 sons Alexander W Cruden III (Karen), George J Cruden (Barbara), Michael J Cruden (Erica), and Thomas J Cruden (AnnMarie).
She is also survived by her grandchildren Khalen Cruden, Craig Cruden (Sarah), Nicholas Cruden and Michelle Cruden, and great grandson Cole Cruden and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband Alexander W Cruden and grandson Brian Cruden as well as her mother Adeline (Cox) Fleig and her father George Fleig and her 6 siblings.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ann’s family on Wednesday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie. A prayer service will be offered at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
