Albany, NY - Anita Louise Smith, 61, was called home on April 17th, 2019 surrounded by her family.

Anita was born to Catherine  Jackson and Ralph Franz on August 12, 1957 in Brooklyn, NY. Anita received a degree in Psychology from Mercy  College.

Anita grew up in Tilden Houses in Brownsville. She loved to love people. Her bright eyes and beautiful smile, could light up any room.  She loved cooking, baking, and playing spades. She showed compassion for those she loved and was especially generous with her heart. She was always that positive soul who accepted all of us, just the way we were. She took us all as we were. She loved and protected us all, sometimes from ourselves and often from the world in which we live. Her voice of reason was selfless and she listened to all of our words, no matter how extreme.

They relocated to the Capital District in 2007, and later settled in Albany, NY with their beloved dog ourselves and often from the world in which we live. of our words, no matter how extreme.

In 2004 Anita met the love of her life, Tyrone James. Rockette.

Anita is survived by her children Catherine Smith, Jillian Miller (Warren   Miller, Sr.), Darin Hyman, and Ralphiel Hyman. Her grandchildren Charlene Taylor, Warren Miller Jr., Camaryn Smith, Fantasia Miller, Darin Hyman Jr., L’Oreal Hyman, Jasai Hyman, her great-grandson Jarmai Eley, her love      Tyrone James (Good Boy) , and a host of extended family and friends.
