Colonie – Anita Grace Mafrici, 85, was received into the arms of her Lord on Wednesday June 13, 2018 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Manhattan and was the daughter of Victor and Vera Klein. She had several part time jobs during and after high school, but chose to be a homemaker, dedicating her life to lovingly caring for her husband, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, cooking, and crocheting, making sure each grandchild received a handmade blanket to treasure. She was a member of the Red Hatters and enjoyed her Wednesday craft gatherings with her many friends. She had a passion for irises and loved watching birds in her backyard. One of her greatest joys was being baptized as an adult and received as a communicant member of St. Clare's church. She treasured the friends she made during the many winters she spent in South Carolina. She was a loving and devoted wife for 62 years to her husband David. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Steven (Kathy) Mafrici, Michael Mafrici, Vicki (David) Lane, and Bill (Debbie) Mafrici, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, her brother Hugo Klein, and numerous nieces, nephews, and family friends.
Funeral services will be on Saturday morning at 8:30 at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave. Colonie then to St. Clare’s Church at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Family and friends are invited to visit with Anita’s family on Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Shriners Hospitals or the Wounded Warrior Project.
