ALBANY – Amalia C. LoGiudice, 88 of Albany, passed away peacefully on Thursday March 09, 2017 at her residence.
She was born in Antillo, Sicily, Italy and was the daughter of the late Santi and Maddelena Bongiorno. Amalia was predeceased by her beloved husband Giuseppe in 2011. She loved to cook, bake, crochet and knit. Her biggest joy was to be with her cherished family. Amalia was always surrounded by the love her children and grandchildren. She looked to travel back home to Italy to bask in the joy of her oldest son and her sisters.
Amalia is the beloved mother of Tindaro (Gianna) LoGiudice of Rome, Italy, Santi (Francesca) LoGiudice of Guilderland, Daniele (late Josephine) LoGiudice of Schenectady, Maria (Elio) Smiroldo of Colonie and Carmelina Rios of Albany. She is the sister of Iole (Salvatore) Manfredi of Italy. She is also survived 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The LoGiudice family is most grateful to kind and compassionate caretakers that cared for Amalia. Special thanks to Community Hospice and caregivers, Ms. Santiago, Nyjia Johnson and Marie Clooney.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 8:30 at Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave. Albany then to All Saints Catholic Church at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3 to 6 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
