Alfred J. Norris

Schenectady – Alfred Norris, 88, of Schenectady, passed away to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.

He was born in Schenectady and was the son of the late Albert and Elizabeth Norris. Alfred served in the US Army. He was employed at the former Kalteux Oil Company and as custodian for the Schenectady City School District.  Alfred was a longtime parishioner and usher at St. Paul the Apostle Church. He was a volunteer at the Glendale Nursing Home and with the St. Vincent dePaul Society. Alfred was a devoted husband, father and grandfather to his cherished family.

He was the beloved husband of 58 years, to Mary Jane Norris. He was the devoted father of Thomas (Allison) Norris. Alfred, was known as, “Papa” to Jason, Gloria, Amanda, Jessica, Amber and Joshua Norris. He was also brother to Herbert (Shirley) Norris, Ray (Maureen) Norris, David (Michelle) Norris, Kathy (Ted) Lokenberg and the late Harriet (Russell) Page. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 9:00 at Cannon Funeral Home, 2020 Central Ave., Colonie then to St. Paul the Apostle Church at 10:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited go visit with Alfred’s family on Tuesday from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Memorial contributions are encouraged in Alfred’s name to the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2733 Albany Street, Schenectady, NY 12304.
