STOTTVILLE – Alfred Meano, 71, formerly of Stottville, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at St. Peter’s Hospital after a battle with cancer.

He was born in Brooklyn and was the son of the late Angelo and Grace Meano. He was predeceased by his wife Juliette in 2006 and his brothers, Robert, Thomas and Angelo Jr.

Al retired from Greenhaven Correctional Facility after twenty-five years as a Correction Officer. He loved his job and continued to think he was with corrections, always looking out for others. He had been a volunteer at the Hudson Salvation Army soup kitchen in more recent years. Al enjoyed wine, scratch offs, his Jeep, trips to Lake George, walking and eating breakfast at his favorite diner. He was very meticulous and loved to clean. Al was known as the king of the grill. He was one of a kind and they definitely broke the mold when they made him. Al had many funny nicknames and saying for people. He was a former Exalted Ruler of the B.P.O.Elks.

Al is the beloved father of Christopher A. (Gennifer) Meano and Michelle (Edward) Waldron. He is the cherished grandfather of Tiffany (Vasilios) Pilarinos, Christopher Meano Jr., Olivia, Isabelle, Katy and Michael Waldron. Great grandfather of Alex Pilarinos and Mariana Xiloj. He is the brother of Michael (Maureen) Meano. Several nieces and nephews also survive and his very dear friend Jack Tonebene.
