Albert "Albie" J. Russo, Jr.

December 6, 1972 — August 2, 2024

ALBANY – Albert “Albie” J. Russo Jr., 51 of Albany passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 02, 2024 at Albany Medical Center. He was born in New Hartford, NY and was the son of the late Albert J. and Gail E. Russo Sr.

Albie grew up in Rome, New York. After graduating from Rome Free Academy HS, he continued his education and received an associate's degree at Fingerlake Community College. Soon after, he relocated to Albany, New York where he began his successful career in the automotive industry. He worked for Armory Chrysler Jeep for 17 years as general sales manager and most recently general manager of Tasca Jeep, Kingston.  Albie's late father was an integral part of his life instilling the core values of humility, work ethic, faith and family. Just like his father, his favorite day of the week was Sunday. You were guaranteed to find him in the kitchen cooking the day away, spending quality time with his children and friends, relaxing with a beer or glass of wine with Sinatra or Billy Joel playing in the background. He loved life, and all the special people that filled it. His three beautiful daughters were the center of his world and his loving spirit shines brightly in them every day.

Albie is the beloved father of Ava Sofia, Nila Rose, Lillian Margaret Russo and their mother Michelle St. Onge Russo.  He is the cherished brother of John & Deborah Merchant of Saratoga, Patrick & Melanie Merchant of Charlotte, NC., Renee & Andy Marker of Troy, OH., Jeffery & Stephanie Russo of Rome NY and JoMarie & Richard Hedrick of Sanford, FL. He is the uncle of Jacqueline (Merchant) & Nicholas Longo, Albert Merchant, John Burt, Joseph Adkins and Sarah Adkins. He is the great uncle of John Anthony Longo. Albie is the lifelong friend of Tommy Campbell.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 11:00 at All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead Street, Albany. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
